In Progress: R32

Well I picked this piece of crap kit up at wally-world last night for a measly 5 dollars. I thought it would be a good excersize to greatly improve my scratching building skills. I don't know if this actually goes in this forum since it is a die-cast body, but it did say model kit on the box. Not many parts including because everything is already put together, except for the interior and chassis. Still after I completely disassembled everything (except for taillights and intercooler) there is a total of 50 parts. On with the two pictures I have right now, All 50 parts and the instructions just to show how simple the kit is. I don't know how far I am going to get with this in the next couple days with GT4 coming out tomorrow its going to be tough.

Oh yeah and since I am going to strip the paint, I posted in the classisfieds about needing an r32 decal sheet. So if you have an extra one or any skyline decals I might take them off your hands. thanks

Re: In Progress: R32

you could do tons of things like wire the engine and other small things to improve it.

i hear ya though, my models will be suffering due to GT4 being slapped into my grimy hands tomorrow.

Re: In Progress: R32

yeh i would give it more detail by putting in some seat belts, floormats, maybe some electronics, and definetly some engine wiring.

Re: In Progress: R32

I was definitely planning on at least adding....

chassis details (needs tons of work, new exhaust is high on my list)
engine details (I forgot to mention the kit only included the top half of the engine)
suspension details (kits is non-existent)
interior details (carpet) and now that you said something seatbelts and floormats sound like a good idea

I'll get some close up pics of the crappy chassis tomorrow so you guys can see what i have to deal with, buts that only going to hapen if I'm not glued to the T.V.

Its only a 15 day longer wait, and its better then not getting it at all (US didn't get GT Concept or GT4 Prologue).

I might take those decals if you could get a picture for me, I'm only really looking for certain ones to replace the ones that will be sanded off when I repaint this model.

Re: In Progress: R32

Actually had some progress, not much but some. All my other time has been with GT4.

Heres a picture of the crappy chassis

Crappy Motor

And my Progress on the engine bay so far

I need a question answered, this plastic is wierd, my normal testors glue doesn't seem to want to bond them together. I can just pull the parts off like they were glued with white glue. Any suggestions are what to do?

Thanks, I'll have to buy some CA glue tonight. I already tried sanding the pieces but that did nothing. Once I get the glue I can start the engine and I've been wanting to do that for a couple days now.

I still need to putty everything and then sand it smooth. I also want to try and add some engine block details.
