Boost Sensor???

There is a little hose that goes from something called a 'Boost Sensor' near the MAF to the air box. I am installing a Stillen Pop Charger, and obviously the air box isnt going to be there anymore, so where does that little hose go? ( I have a 2000) Thanks

Ok I have no Idea what that sensor do's but I had the same problem when I was putting together my intake, basicly all I did was tie it up close to the filter and everything is running fine no check engine light or anything. Hope that helps.

gdalton: How did you tie it, like where exactly did you put it...like behind the filter and just use some tape to hold it in place or something else??

95flG20: Its a little black hose that goes from the air box to a little sensor near the MAF which says BOOST SENSOR on it.

WTF? A N/A car would never create positive boost pressure without air being forced in....can you explain more in detail? I do have a tube in my 1999 but it doesn't go into the airbox but instead into the AAV idle control valve....and connect between my MAF and T/B

The boost sensor is only on the 2k+ G's and I still have no idea why we have it but there is a little tube going to a little box that says "boost sensor". Koojo All I did was zip tie it around the base of the filter. I don't think it actualy has to be by the filter because it is not goin to get any positive or negative readings either way. Just make sure it isn't flying around loose under the hood and I don't think you should have any problems.

Ya, I dont think the 99's have it. It is a little black hose, probably quarter of an inch around, and about 4 inches long. it goes from little nipple connector that is on the back of the airbox, near the bottom right bold of the MAF is. The other side of the hose goes up to a little sensor that is on a metal off the MAF. It says 'BOOST SENSOR' on it. ANYONE KNOW WHAT I AM SUPPOSE TO DO WITH IT WHEN I INSTALL MY STILLEN POP?

I'm telling you don't worry about it zip tie to the base of the filter and forget it. I have had my intake in a couple of month's now with the boost sensor just hanging out at the base of the filter, there has been no problems what so ever with it.

Oh aiight man, just needed a little assurance. That's what I'll do then. But does anyone know what it does anyway?

I just pulled like hell untill it came off, also a little twisting helps. Nipple, twisting, pulling if I didn't know any better I would think I was at the wrong forum.

When I put my intake on today, the intake adapter had a little nipple nozzle where i could hook up that little hose, so that took care of the problem. thanks man

Went to mechanic shop to check on my car today....last week I took it in because of a bad noise...found out it is most likely the chain guide.....I took a look around on my 99 g20 and found the sensor....its not connected to my airbox though...instead connected to some brass tubing behind the motor which I was not able to get a closer look because I had on regular clothes....My sensor is mounted on the firewall almost directly in the center of the car....its on a bracket all by itself...I wondered what that was...interesting...

That is the ‘Boost Sensor’. It is on a brass bracket all by itself, and has a black little hose about 4 inches long that comes out from it. That hose goes into the MAF adapter. The bracket itself should be connected to the two top bolts of the MAF. What kind of noise was your engine making?
