Boost Sensor

ok my 96 ford probe gt has a boost sensor in it um truthfully im trying to learn as much as i can about my car but wouldnt a boost sensor only be needed if u have a turbo or something?> and if not how can i umm make the boost sensor give more boost or whatnot .

Re: Boost Sensor

The "boost sensor" is used by the EGR system. It looks to see if there actually is exhaust gas flowing thru the casted in passegeway in the intake manifold. It has nothing to do with performance and more to do with proper functioning of the EGR (emissions) system.
