son-of-a-B1#@H!
I have a Hasegawa EVO VI that I wanted to paint with some Sliver/Green Dupli-Color Mirage but......
The can says this. It sprays this. DAMN IT!. I realized the color was wrong once the first coat went on. I couldn't stop so I finished laying down the color coat. I'll have to stick with this color. I'll wetsand the color coat for a better flip-flop effect and then clear it. This pisses me off! I had plans for that damn sliver/green......oh well. BTW, the BMF is just a mask....

Re: son-of-a-B1#@H!
Sorry for laughing, but this has happend to me as well. It sucks when the cap shows a cool color and once you spray it it comes out...not as nice or wayyy different. Thats why i try spraying it in the store, without them seeing me ofcourse![]() Hey, I mixed this color up and it came out silver/green ish. If you want to try it out. Its around 5/8 Alpine Green pearl and 3/8 Honda Artic Silver. Its from Dupli Color too. here is how it came out. A really light green with the reflections that Silver gives off ![]() http://files.automotiveforums.com/ga...86DSC09961.JPG |

It's cool...I'll just have to rethink the whole scheme of the car. I've tried the purple/green once before with great results. I've found that wetsanding the color coat super smooth gives a really nice, even, flip-flop.

Re: son-of-a-B1#@H!
You should be able to return it to the store. It’s clearly not what it purports to be.

I can picture the clerk at the store where you bought the paint reading this and saying, "Yes!! All my practical joking is finally paying off! Gotta get back to work and switch more labels."
Seriously, it looks good anyway. Fate, and some doofus out there, brought you together.

Re: son-of-a-B1#@H!
Well, the problem is that you can't really test the color coat unless you have something else primed black. If you spray it on any random box or paper it shoots absolutely clear.
As it sits in the picture it's not clear coated or even wetsanded for that matter. Quote:

Always, always, always, always, always, always...uhm and always test before you spray. ;-)>
Then again it really looks like you just have a new excuse to buy another model...which would give you 2!!! Lucky bastard! I'm running out of excuses at my place...;-)> Bill

Re: son-of-a-B1#@H!
Sorry about the slightly blurry picture. Well, I wetsanded the color coat as uniform as I could and cleared it. The body is still waiting for polish but I'm happy with the results. Without preparation it's fairly hard to photograph flip-flop paint. If it were a Kameleon or Majzora than it would be no problem. If anyone is wondering, the wheels are going to be Blitz TechnoSpeed Z1's.
