b16a mounts

i am the proud owner of a b16a...im sooo happy, i go out and look at it every day...i make my girlfriend stop by the garage and say hello before she comes in the house...she likes it...anyways...what mounts do you guys recommend, how much, and where can i get em?? its goin into a 90 civic si...also, my tranny for some odd reason has a electric speedo sensor, not the cable type, yet it is a 1g b16a5, with a cable clutch, the serial # sticker is gone from when the importer pressure washed it...will my d16 cable type speed sensor fit in its place?? if not where do i get one that will??...oh ya, that 92 toyota clown sucks...he probably drives a tercel, id be a bitter sob too if i had a damn tercel...or an echo...

Those are good mounts.

Yes if you pull the clip off the electric vss and pull it out, then you can put your original cable speedo sensor in the same place and secure it with the clip.

And I am pretty sure you have a b16a because there never was a block stamped with the code b16a5.

yeah, my b16a came with the electronic speedo sensor too. What we did was we took the cotter pin/clip thingy that held the gear that goes down into the trans off, and we put that gear onto the old VSS, and put the pin back in. the SiR speedo sensor is bolted to the trans with two bolts, and my 89 crx si's d16 one was just pushed in. so, now it will just be pushed in, instead of bolted in. by doing this, you will now have a speedo, and if you wired up vtec correctly....VTEC! i almost $hit myself when we got the speedo working....and to top it all of it hit vtec! oh yah, i have the place racing mounts...got them for $450......they are rather stiff tho. peace

ive heard complaints about the hasport ones, that theyre really stiff (not always a bad thing) and that theyre built to a brutally tight tolerance, meaning that if your car is not perfectly straight, theyre a bitch to put in...and everyone seems to put down the hcp ones, i dont know what specifically, maybe someone can fill me in...

I have the Hasports and my car was in a front end accident and the mounts fit fine. It was a squeeze because the motor is larger, but the mounts work well. The new billet mounts are very nice and don't vibrate too much. The HCP mounts are cheaper and use 4 mounts which is a good thing. The one thing I heard is that the front mount is a pain to fit onto the front crossmember, but I haven't heard anything bad about HCP.

Well i hope my HCP won't fail on me... it took me awhile just to get my engine and all the stuff needed and if it fucks up on me i just hope it won't screw up on me.
