engine price seems fine, did they compression and leak-down test the engine (look for the tag)? the rebuild seems a little high, take $100-200 off. intercooler is good. piping is steep, shouldnt be more than $400; what kind of welds is he going to use? JWT ecu is right. BOV is fine. labor is right. gauges, boost cont., turbo timer all for 500-600? if so, thats a good deal. depends what kind of boost controller as well, if its an apex'i, your getting a good deal.

btw, SR20Development is in San Diego

Well as for the engine, yes they ran all the test that were nessasary, need to look into the tag, I might be able to get the engine alittle cheaper if i wait, might get one directly from japan on some biig crate... the engine that i can get now is from WA... as for the re-build, my mechanic said he got that quote from turbonetics, so i'm not sure what to say about that...the piping was said to be completely custom mandrel bends.... i guess? dunno what to say about that either..... As for the boost control, i was thinking of apexi, but i can get the digital blue face for $400 bucks, which i'm not sure is a good deal either.....

Thnx for your input AznVirus

If you consider a BB DET instead of the GTI-R DET you could knock about $1K off which could be spent on alternative parts to reach or exceed the GTI-R output.

IIRC, parts for the BB DET are considerably more easy to get than for the GTI-R.

Couldn't have said it better Sandy.

Otherwise, the prices sound about right and the labor even seems a bit cheap to me. I wouldn't touch that job for one penny less than $1,000 US.

The reason why i'm gettin' such a deal for labor is that the mechanic is a friend of a friend, but the parts are as cheap as my mechanic can get, hopefully i can get that engine from japan cause my mechanic said that he possibly can get the engine for a strait 2g's from his homie, so wish me luck....
