Help with packaging from HLJ

Well I got my Top Secret Skyline from HLJ today and the packaging is weird. There seem no original manufacturer's packing but what I think is HLJ's shrink wrap and there was a pretty big hole at the side. Then in the packet where the clear parts are there was also a hole in it. Im just wondering if this is normal. Sorry for bad picture quality.

Re: Help with packaging from HLJ

Kits in Japan don't come shrink wrapped, HLJ likely shrink wrapped the kit to protect it in shipping.

If all the parts are there I wouldn't even worry about it.

Re: Help with packaging from HLJ

All kits fron HLJ seems to come shrink wrapped together with a bit of cardbord slightly larger than the box. If you order more than one kit they will be shrink wrapped together with one single cardboard. So it seems like the shrinkwrapping is done at hlj and not something from the factory. .

Re: Help with packaging from HLJ

Correct, Japanese model companies do not shrink wrap kits. Making an absoloute farce of all those eBay auctions featuring factory shrink wrapped items. The wrapping in your package is just what HLJ do for shipping, to make sure the kit doesn't move in the box preventing bits being damaged or lost. As for the clear parts bag (not that much can be seen in the photo) could it have been cut and split by a sharp edge? Either way it is only an issue if something is missing or damaged. If not, then don't stress!

Re: Help with packaging from HLJ

Maybe they did wrap it, but then all the air inside the wrapper made it pop.
I never got my s13 wrapped its was in the normal sized box with hlj on it, and inside the stock box of the s13 without wrapper.

Re: Help with packaging from HLJ

Thanks guys, after i looked over the box, nothing seems to be missing. But the disappointment of this kit was that the there was no big vent in the hood.

But the extra parts like a seat(different style than the other two), front and rear diffusers, etc, and the Top Secret Volk rims make up for it.
(had to darken the pic to see it with this crappy camera)

Re: Help with packaging from HLJ

A dremel, sanpaper and patience can fix the vent in no time. At least the other vents are there.

Re: Help with packaging from HLJ

If you're big complaint about the kit is that the vent in the hood is closed, then you don't have much of a complaint

Re: Help with packaging from HLJ

btw I remember someone posted picture of this kit here and told us the hood vent wasn't opened.

Anyway, get a dremel and work carefully.
