Stock shocks

i'm thinking about getting some adjustable coilovers for my '01 gsr... just to get rid of the wheel gap...

do i need to replace the stock shocks too? i'm afraid they might be too soft and my car will bottom out...

the spring rate for particular coilovers i'm looking at are 8kg for front & 6KG for back. ( 8kg/mm = 448lbs/in and
6kg/mm = 335lbs/in)

everything on my ride is currently stock (rims, tires, etc...).. no plans for racing.. just everyday driving.

if they are "full coilovers" they include the shocks and struts, usually these run from 800-$$$ for some nice ones. Regular coilovers are simply springs that can be adjusted Via a perch and locking ring, just like full coilovers, put do not include the shocks or struts. usually 180-350? I just helped a buddy install some coilovers, nuespeeds bout $950, in his 00 civic coupe. No they are not slopy or bouncy very nice setup, handles really really well, trying to avoid "handles likes its on rails." The install is really easy, but I would suggest getting a camber kit as well as an alighnement job done after the install.

Yes you will need new shocks if you are just buying coilovers such as Skunk 2. Some shcoks companies are KYB, Tokico, etc. Good luck on whatever you choose.

The stock shocks will bottom out and it will be a uncomfortable ride. if you want to regain a stock ride then get some nice shocks to go along with it such as Koni, KYB,or Tokico.

it really depends on the drop.....if it's a mild drop you could get away with stock shocks for a while....but since your car is 12 years old you might not want to risk it.....but if it's an aggressive drop you'll blow those stockers in a few months.....
