best springs for stock shock?

I wanna replace my coilovers with springs cause my car just bounces like hell. I know getting performance shocks would help, but i just don't have that much money. So what kinda spring should i get that would give me about 1.7" drop and best ride quality?

and no, i am not going back to stock height...

dude why dont you get some Tokico blues.... 250 for the set and you can use your coilovers.

Its not the coiloevrs that are making your ride so shitty, it's the stock shocks. Replace them before you get rid of the coilovers...

You can look into Eibach springs or look into getting some shocks such as Koni Yellows ...

I've had my Eibach Sportline for about 6 months and my shocks aren't shot yet Although I am saving up money for when it does go... I'm thinking about going with Koni Yellows. We'll see when they do go and how much money I have saved up.

If you just buy springs for your stock shocks, they will most likely blow. Not right at first, but eventually, they will carap out.

and also there's always some "ding ding" "dwin dwin" sound coming from the rear coilovers......it's getting annoying....my friends had springs on his integra with stock shocks, and his shocks are fine for over two years now......and the ride quality is not too bad....

well, anyway, i think i'll replace with springs first then get performance shocks......

but MAN they cost soooooo much!!

hmm...when i got it installed i had stock shocks in the front, and pep boy shocks in the back cause my stock shocks in the back are bend.

And the shop installed everything.

everytime i go into an entrance of a plaza, you know how the car will go up a little, and my rear coils will have weird sounds.....i am guess it's the springs moving up and down or whatever......

and i think i 'll buy springs first, then get shocks when i have the money.

THe bump stops are these little rubber things at the top of the coil that prevent the shock from goin up too much. maybe when they changed your shock, they didn't put the bump stops back. Either that or they put in shocks that were lower than stock, so when you go over bumps, it hits the bump stops. When you get after market shocks and springs you are suposed to shave the bump stops.

If all you are looking for is to lower your gap, then the prokit will do that, don't expect anything more than that out of those springs.

Also keep in mind that you will spend 200+ on the springs and about 200-300 on labor (unless you do it yourself)

Keep tha in mind, look at you ultimate goal first before you buy something you'll swap out later

I got the Tanabe Super Down Precedeo (I know its a mouthful) on my Civic with stock shocks and the ride is very nice, plus the springs give it a very nice 2" drop. I think they are the lowest drop springs on the market, unless you get coilovers. I had coilovers and I hated them, so thats why I went with these springs. I only paid $200 for them.

Is it me, or is the Civic pretty low with stock shocks and springs. on mine, there's already no wheel gap... maybe my fat ass lowered my car for me.

I don't know about that... There's a guy that owns a Civic Si right by my condo and I feel that the wheel well/ tire gap is pretty large... I think Eclipses have the largest gap.
