|
CF DECAL questions
Hello.
I have a carbon fiber decal question. For 1/24 scale which size of carbon fiber decal do I need S or M , or L ? And what is the sidze meens? Size of squers on decals? How do U applie on the hood which have a lot of curves? I never delt with large decals. usualy i delt with flames or stripes. THANK YOU.

You talking about Studio 27 carbon fibre? If so, S is small, M is meduim and L is large (surprise
 ) For 1/24th, small or meduim would be your best bets. Large is only really for big scales like 1/12th.How do you apply it to complex curves? Ray has already answered that question. Plenty of other good stuff in the Tutorial Depository and FAQ too. P.S. Thread moved to the main modelling forum.

Rememember to coat it with very very light layers of some clearcoat. I've heard that Metalizer Sealer works well. I've also heard things about urethane clears and auto clears over decals, but that's highly expermental.

Good pont Pat. I've used clear lacquer over carbon fibre decals sucessfully. But since all decals and paints are different, it would be wise to test first. Two part urethane should be safe for decals since it isn't as 'hot' as auto lacquer, much more dangerous to you though.

S = 1/24 1/43 (might be a bit big for 1/43) M = 1/20 L = 1/12

thank u all.
i m not a beginer to the world of model cars, just never had a chanse to do a carbon fiber decals. i was building american muscles for a long time./model cars/ then i start collecting and customizing imports ,but they all diecast,now when i have one of the gratest cars in the world seating on my shelf for long time ,i realize it's time to do some thing about that. and this cars r : fujimi nismo r33 gtr fujimi kansai hks r 33 gtr fujimi nismo v35 amt supra from the fatf1 i have to build them.not just build,customize them.so i have some ideas i will be sherring in another thread.
