completed Porsche 914 IMSA racer from early 70's

Completed Porsche 914 IMSA racer from the early 1970's. Model company is FIT. 1/43 scale. Main sponsor should be Kirby / Hotchkiss Racing, not what is on the car.

very nice porsche, especially for 1/43rd scale.
Do you mind if I ask what the color is or is it a custom mix?

Its a custom mix of Testors enamels to match a color chip from the kit.

Very nice, I seem to be all thumbs when it comes to 1/43. Small scale stuff never ceases to amaze me.

Do you know if anyone makes 1/24 models of 914? I love this car and I would like to add it to my collection.

BTW Great build.

Re: completed Porsche 914 IMSA racer from early 70's

Thanks for the compliments guys.
Ridefast - The only 1/24 kits that I know of is one issued in the 70's by Revell and a resin kit that a German company makes. I have the Revell kit which is somewhat simplified (with a motor) and doesnt looks okay but not exactly right (a little too boxy looking). I have heard the German resin version is simplified and soft on detail.

Oh man...!?!
How come?
Was it badly packaged or did it look too much like some kind of terrorist weapon????

That's (w)a(s) a very nice 914. I hope you can recover it, The windowpillars and the look horrible...
Good luck!

Bad news for you. I never heard about this car.
Kirby-Hotchkiss / Kilby-hitchcock, is that some kind of counterfeit product ?

WOW! Tell me more about the wheels...they are so cool. Did they come staggered offset, or did you mod them? Love the paint/color
That sucks about the USPS mishap, isn't there insurance to cover it?
