You may need to scrub the paint in the CSC with a medium- to hard-bristled brush to get the paint off. Though, I never did get all the Tamiya gray primer off, and Now I'm having trouble getting some old Gunze black paint off, too...

nail enamel remover safe for plastic and fngers (I personally prefer Revlon)

i was told csc wont work on tamiya paints nor will it work on auto lacquers, acrylics and enamels are fine. I would go for brake fluid as this removed the auto paint on one of my models and as tamiya paint is a type of lacquer too it should also work. Dont use nail polish remover unless u want to f**k up your model.

Question

How might nail polish remover mess up your model? I used it on my current project and it seems to be okay at the moment.

CSC cleaned my NSX body after it had layers Tamyia White Primer, Tamiya Spray Red, and Tamiya Acrylic Black (airbrushed) all on it for at least 2 months. It took about a day.

I have been told on a number of occasions that nail polish remover is a no-no when it comes to stripping paint off models as it will attack the plastic. But hearing your success story with it then maybe i was told wrong, however i used it to remove paint from a clear part in my model making early days and the part just cracked coz of a reaction to the solvent.

I should probably mention that I didn't soak the body in the nail polish remover, as I didn't have enough. I simply used a toothbrush and some elbow grease and the paint came out rather easily. Maybe if I let it soak, the plastic would get damaged. I don't really know. Perhaps someone who has tried soaking can let us know if the plastic remains unharmed.
