New spark plugs
Hi guys.
I'm thinking on replacing my stock spark plugs with Bosch double platinum or iridium plugs. Will it make any difference in performance or gas mileage? Someone was talking about resetting ECU after installing new plugs and wires. Is it necessary? On a different subject. I know many of you put new bigger rims (17" or even 18"). Did you lose any comfort in your ride, is it more hard on bumps (especially on Accords)? Thank you

Stick with NGK's in your Honda, thats what Honda put in there. You can get some plantinum NGK's also. I don't think you will really see any hp gains from changing plugs if so nothing really noticeable. You shouldn't have to reset your ECU after changing your plugs they are not going to make that much of a difference in your HP.
As for 17" rims you will feel more of the bumps in the road when you change from a 14" or 15" rim. There is more tire air between you and the raod on the smaller rim so you don't feel every bump as bad. Less air between you and the road the more you will feel every crack and bump.

Stay away from the bosch plat +4s, and bosch plugs in general for our Hondas. I had some and didn't like them, and so did many others I have talked to. Now I have Denso plugs, and they are a huge improvement over the +4s.

As much as I love Bosch, no good bro. NGK or Denso is the way to go. I have NGKs currently, hey, cheap and effective, $1.67 can't be evil...

Bosch plugs do not work in Japanise engines, its proven fact.
my brother has Altima and few month ago he decided to stay little long after work and do little tune-up (change spark plugs, wires & air filter). and guess what, he called me that night and said; my engine is dying, i bearly made it home, i thought it will stole few time and i just wasted money on tune-up. my first question was what spark plugs did you put in, answer was Bosch. i knew right away how to fix it, i went to local autostore, bought cheapest spark plugs that were avalable, brought over to his house, after he put those spark plugs in, car runs just fine. so stick with NGK, if you want irridium ones, it will expensive, they run for about $13 each for DENSO and $11 for NGK.

17" rims
there will be alot of difference in the way the car handles with 17s, basically more responsive and tighter in curves. i would recommend
215 tires, i have 205/40/zr17, and in my opinion the extra rubber would help with the potholes.

Thank you guys for the insight on spark plugs.
I have a new car, so there is no reason to change them, just wanted to do something. My accord already has 16" rims, so I would prefer to go with 18" instead of 17" to see the difference, but I'm afraid it will be too unpleasant to drive on local roads and during winter.

i used splitfire plugs for a few years and they didn't do anything that they claimed. i used bosch platinums for a year or so and they didn't do much (either good or bad)... so now i'm back to the regular denso plugs. why waste money on fancy plugs when the rest of your ignition system is stock? it's just a waste of money.
keep in mind that tires for 18" rims will cost a lot more than 17" equivalents. also, assuming you have 15" stock rims, a 18" rim would put you into the plus 3 category (read up on the plus concept here). this means you would have to get 35-series tires in order to maintain the proper tire circumference. it's important to keep the proper tire circumference because it directly effects your speedometer and odometer accuracy.
