Question Rims/Tire size

I'm getting some rims as soon as it gets warm. I have a 2000 Civic Si lowered with Eibach Sportline springs. Will 17 x 7, 40mm rims be perfect for my car? Also, I need some advice on 205/40-17 tires. I know nothing about tires and need some recommendation. Since these will be for the spring/summer/fall season, I want some high performance tires. What do you guys recommend.

They claim that 40mm offset is perfect for civics, and with thats drop i think you would be alright. I would prefer a 42+ offset. Your tire size is perfect. I love my Toyo Proxies, they seem to hold the road really good, and there not to bad on those rainy days if you ever get any of those. Good Luck.

Bridgestone Potenza SO2 Pole Positions, if they still sell them over there. I have 215/40ZR17's. Amazing grip, killer looks and tread design, and fantastic on the wets.

I did a quick look didn't find them (SO-2PP) in that size. The SO-3 has gotten a very enthusiastic response so far, but I might also more strongly suggest the Mich Pilot Sport if you have rain issues of any kind, price is identical/compounds are said to wear comparabley too.
