3000GT SL vs. modified srt-4

Well it goes somethin like this, i exit the freeway on my way back to campus when an srt-4 with aftermarket exhaust and a mean sounding blow off valve pulls up next to me and sounds off his bov. I pass him and rev pretty hard turning on to a side street where he pulls up next to me. Were at a 50 mile an hour roll and he starts a 3 honk start on three we go. It stays even through second and i shift to third around 73, about this time he starts to walk me slowly we shut it down around 90 and he's a car length ahead. We catch a light and he says damn man that thing is quick, im surprised you hung with me, i said thanks and asked what he had done he said a manual boost controller exhaust and bov. He asked what i run in the quarter turns out he runs a 13.9 which beats my 14.1 pretty handily. Well i was surprised at how fast the srt was and happy i hung with him. BY the way my friend josh was with me and the bastard weighs a good 240 pounds so that didnt help.

Well thats it sorry for the blob.

The part about your friend was funny. Maybe you should race again. If you win, he'll probably never ride with you again.

Re: 3000GT SL vs. modified srt-4

I'm gonna have to call BS until I see a time-slip or even a GTech shot, unless you happen to be one of the people at the top of the N/A list in here (very bottom): http://www.team3s.com/FAQ-fastest.htm

Oh, notice how the top ones have this: "ii" - which means they ran with nitrous?

Again, calling bullshit, because my 15.0 car has ran with about 3 SL's, and I have pulled two by half-a-car, and the modded one got me by only a car.

Re: 3000GT SL vs. modified srt-4

Yeah if you can provide a mod list that'd be cool, because SRTs are fast and I can't see an SL which is a tank hanging with one unless really modded.

Well from reading his old thread he has a new clutch, lightend flywheel, exhaust and intake. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Well then the guys from Team3S are wasting their money, whenever they re-fill their N20 bottles.

He should go say something.

Re: 3000GT SL vs. modified srt-4

the srt are pretty fast! it would be hard for LS to even keep up unless heavily mod. but who knows maybe the srt driver was a rookie

lightened flywheel and clutch don't mean jack...exhaust n' intake are the only significant mods there. And i doubt those are enough to take an SRT4. The only time flywheel and clutch will make a difference is if there are other drivetrain mods (tranny, gears etc.) and a LOT of power on its way from the motor to the wheels. otherwise on a stock engine with basic bolt ons, there will be absolutely no difference felt. now of course you'll feel a difference if your clutch is going out and you are forced to replace it or the flywheel is bent so you have to replace it too. But thats a different story, i mean a perfectly fine stock clutch and a perfectly fine stock flywheel vs. "peformance" clutch and "performance" flywheel.

I never said it was enough to take an SRT-4, Personally I agree 100% with carrrnuttt. I don't believe he took an SRT-4.
