Civic cam question
This may sound like a stupid question, but i'm curious and uninformed. I recently bought a 95 Civic EX. The car has a 1.6 sohc VTEC motor. I have heard of people with GSRs swapping their cams out for Civic and Integra Type r cams and getting some gains. My questions pertains to my motor. My friend told me my car has VTEC on the intake, but no the exhaust. So Is it possible to swap out my cam for a Civic or Integra type r Intake cam? He said no. I know my motor is a d series and the type r's are b series, however i'm curious.

The cams your considering are DOH cams. Yours is a single cam. Single cams control both intake and exhuast. Dual overhead cams have one cam for intake and one cam for exhuast.

Yep, in other words they are totally incompatible with your motor.
