Will this be a model soon?

Notice the Tamiya decal on this JGTC car, the 350Z GTR.

Re: Will this be a model soon?

Optimistically speaking, we can only hope....for any new kit from Tamiya.

Re: Will this be a model soon?

That would be nice, but since Tamiya have released the Porsche Carrera, next model should be:
Porsche Carrera GT: Stupid Color Version
Porsche Carrara GT: Special Edition (carbon with few PE)
Few Old kit rereleased
Then a new kit.. probably at the begining of 2005

Few years ago, this kit would be released for sure (tamiya was making near 10 kit by year and even more) But now, tamiya have hard time to release 2 kit by year

The 350Z is definitely a popular car. And from what I've heard the JGTC version is a big hit, too. I think Tamiya will release it, eventually. It won't be soon (imo), since the race car is nothing like the street car, so very few, if any, shared parts. New parts require time to mold.

Re: Will this be a model soon?

I agree with vric here, you just know they will release a new carrera gt, they are also planning some new re-releases of the renault 5 and peugeot 205 rally cars. Looks like we will have to be patient and wait for a JGTC 350Z.

Oh so true, Vric (there probably will be a "clear view" version in there too). I guess a JGTC 350Z would make sense for Tamiya and the Japanese market. Seems they have definitely gone off WRC.

Re: Will this be a model soon?

I would put money on this being Tamiya's next release, I'm surprised they have not done so already. Considering that this is the successor to the Skyline in the JGTC series and that Tamiya had a soft spot for the Skyline and produced so many versions, I think we can see the 350Z kit on our shelves before 2005.

I don't build many racing cars, but this is definitely one I'd buy, the 350Z is one of my favorite cars.

Re: Will this be a model soon?

The kit will be announced in october.
Avaible in december.
Pre orders begin on late november! lol!
Finally in France on may 2005... :\

(just like the 2003 JGTC Skyline last year...)

I'll be happy with this one:

I think I've already posted my links to pics webpages in the Motorsports sub-forum... searching for references can be the best way of waiting...

++ Tamiya will announce its release of the whole 2004 world Rallye championship racers, meaning:
Peugeot 307, Citroën Xsara, Ford Focus, Subaru Impreza, Mitshbishi Lancer, Skoda Fabia. (Dreaming costs nothing! )

... Apparently, Hasegawa may release a 2003 WRC Ford Focus...

I've heard the same rumour about the Hasegawa 2003 Focus. Can only hope.

I hope they do release the 350z but the leading Z is the G'ZOX SSR HASEMI Z but that is
not sponsored by tamiya. Or tamiya will release it and studio 27 will do the decals .
