Help! I tried to take out my cat converter on my 01 lude, but it has sensors!
I heard takin out the catback adds 5-10 horses, and i was about to do it today but there were 2 sensors connected to my cat converter. Anyone know what will happen if this thing gets taken off, and also is there anyway of getting around it?

The two sensors are your O2 sensors. Your ECU will freak and your engine will limp without them. And even if you replace the cat with a pipe and stick the O2 sensors back in - it'll still freak because it will know there is something wrong with the cat.
There are ways to get around this, but you gotta know what you're doing. I don't recommend it for four reasons: 1) You won't get much, if any, performance gain - the stock cat in a lude is pretty darn good. 2) It's illegal, you can get a heavy fine & will have to replace it anyway. 3) You won't pass an emissions test (particularly since you live in CA). 4) It's more polluting. If you get FI at some point and increase your exhaust piping size, you may want to think about replacing it with a race cat from someplace like www.randomtechnology.com Until then, I really wouldn't worry about it - it just isn't a limiting factor to your power.
