McRae fastest driver?
Well Solberg seems to think so...
http://www.rally-live.com/2001/en/he...30110836.shtml Maybe if he took it a bit easier he would complete more races. After all consistency wins.

I dunno, i would have to argue that Tommi is the best like the article said. Seems to me he knows when to back down so that he can at least gets some points rather than retiring.

Exactly! When McRae gets over that win or nothing attitude he'll be even more of a force. I still think he's an awesome driver but he need to mature a bit still.

And lets not forget Loeb, he looks like he will be a force this year!! Prior to his 2min penalty he was +45.9 over Tommi, but then again Tommi was +2:01.6 over 3rd place Sainz!!

Yeah well it helps if you cheat!
Citroen isn't running a full rally this year so no manu point for them.

I personally think McRae is the #1 driver out there, though he obviously isnt without flaw. I think he has the most natural talent out of any driver out there, Makkinen included, though he's not far behind. What it comes down to is their mentality, and while McRae is all or nothing, Makkinen is more methodical, which means he finishes more races. McRae could have stayed on at Subaru for another couple of years and taken a few more titles, that would reflect his talent better than the single WRC he has won. I think of Makkinen Vs McRae sort of like Agassi vs Sampras in tennis. Both wonderful talents, in completely different ways.
