Is an SR20VE swap possible??
Just curious; I've been hearing about the Euro and Japanese Primera's with the SR20VE engine. I was wondering if it would be possible to do a swap into my P10 and what would be necessary to do the swap. Is there even somewhere I could get a used SR20VE?

Not only is it possible, a few G20 list members are considering the swap themselves. There have already been a few SE-R owners who've done this swap. It's not as straight-forward as a DET swap (which has been done a million times) but it's devinitely do-able. You can get the engine from Andreas Miko for $2800 shipped anywhere in the US (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t19271.html). You'll have to do some work wiring and messing with the ECU.
There's a section of SR20DE Forum dedicated to this engine and swapping them (http://www.sr20deforum.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=41). It should have most of the info you're looking for.

Yes a SR20VE swap is possible but I would rather swap in a DET.

How about an SR20VET swap? Or are those engines still too new?

If you are in California, and looking into this, I would suggest talking to SR20development. It's my understanding that they already have some experience with the VE's. If you are on the SoCal SERCA list, you've already heard all the good things about them.
Here is there address and phone number: 1145 Greenfield Dr. El Cajon, CA 92021. 619-69-TURBO.

The SR20DET is available in RWD AND FWD configured as AWD in the Bluebird and GTi-R (RWD and AWD *FWD* are not interchangable). You can always make a SR20VET like that one NX2000 did. Ask JWT about it, I believe they were the ones to figure out all the ECU tuning.
Some say that they would rather have the DET. IMO I would rather now have the VE. It's all the matter of preference.

IMO the DET would push the boundaries and limitations of grip in a fwd, but the VE would not push it as far. Individual choice/preference.

Hey thanks for the replies guys! At least I know that it's possible and has been done. Now all I have to do is go to the bank and withdraw a couple thousand bucks...

I have just done an SR20 swap in my 1993 Nissan Pulsar/Sentra.
From the standard SR20DE Fwd to a SR20VE NEO Fwd out of a Nissan Primera. Glad I decided against the DET conversion as my car insurance would have gone up. They are around the same power level so when I chuck a turbo in it middle year, Bye Bye DET!
