Damn Ferrari

I'll never get a BAR Mugen Honda F1 model at this rate.

Damn damn damn.

That and Sato needs to stop burning up his engines.

Damn.

Woo...random post alert.....lol

I have seen resin kits of the BAR, sometimes you have to go to the resin to find the car you want.

You CAN'T be serious. Mugen I don't know about, but personaly, I'd be shocked if the next 1/20 F1 kit that Tamiya releases isn't the BAR Honda 006. Another Ferrari? - not too likely, in that exept for the handfull of rabid Tifosi (ahem, ALES!), the world really is tired of Ferrari after Ferrari. BAR is the most interesting thing happening on the grid this year- neck in neck with Renault for second, and Button is the highest scoring non-Ferrari driver. (Ok, Renault's launch control is pretty interesting, but does anyone remember that Fernando whathisname guy that everyone was talking about last year, who's been rather upstaged by his teammate who's name also eludes me?) We'll certainly not have a new McLaren or Williams! Lets be honest- Tamiya releases kits for the Japanese market above all else- that's where most model kits are consumed. So we have a scrappy newish team clawing their way to second or third, with a Honda engine, and even a Japanese driver. This kit will sell like crazy in Japan, and pretty well in the UK, also. There's no other option for an F1 kit this year!

I've heard that in japan a lot of people write to honda complaining they don't give a good enough engine to sato !
You could try a conversion from an existing f1 kit, maybe a ferrari from a couple of years, or a new sauber

Re: Damn Ferrari

I would quite like it if Tamiya made a BAR (which in fact is almost a certainty from what I understand) and/or this year's Renault (that thing has very interesting lines, lovely car). And the last Ferrari F1 car that Tamiya made is F2001, so where does this "Ferrari after Ferrari" come from?

I would love to see a 2004 BMW Williams F1 FW26 from Tamiya. It looks so distinctive.

Well, if you were to line up an F2002, F2003GA, and F2004, could anyone (non Tifosi) tell which is which? Even the sponsorship has stayed the same. Uh, the F2003GA is the on with the shark gills on it, right? Really, none of these cars stand out anymore- it's all just one red blur. Does the world really need another reminder of just how boring another championship for Schumi is? (Ok, last year was fairly exciting- but it hardly justifies a model of the F2003GA because it was the Ferrari that Schumi came closest to being beaten in, now does it?) I might expect to see a model of the last Ferrari he drives in F1 (whenever that will be)- but until then, does anyone really care about having the car he won his fifth, or sixth, or seventh (don't want to think about eighth) world title in?

Re: Damn Ferrari

Some do, but that's beyond the point. Everything you just said still doesn't mean that Tamiya produce "Ferrari after Ferrari".

Re: Damn Ferrari

The Sauber C23 is a F2003 so they could make the F2003 and offer it in 2 liveries.....

Mugen I don't know about
Mugen are part of the Honda group, I guess the best description would be saying it's their performance engine side.

No, true, they sensibly stopped after producing to beatiful, but barely distinguishable kits, the F2000 & F2001.

Yeah, similar to BMW M. However, though Mugen used to produce F1 powerplants, I believe they're not associated with BAR F1 Honda engines.

Did I say they were associated with the BAR Honda engine?
You said you didn't know of them, I assumed you didn't meant you didn't know who they were.

My humble apologies for trying to be helpful.
