revell 69 camaro progress
Well, since my airbrush is dead due to a fatal fall
![]() I already played with wheels and came up with tamiya's calsonic R32 rims (why not ?). Front ones have been decreased in width, while i built a custom lip for the rear ones, with deeper offset. Tires are bridgestone at the front and slicks at the rear. That's all i have for the moment. Not decided about the engine as i know much about those big V8 setups, but a wiring is in plan. ![]() ![]() Sorry for the bad pics, the cam's batteries are low, but you can get the idea.

Re: revell 69 camaro progress
Pretty cool. Just look at tons of reference for the engine, or use all that reference and design your own like I am doing with my hot rod.
Cool project, keep us updated!

Re: revell 69 camaro progress
First of all, thanks for the link will, that will be of great help for the engine. Speaking about it, i went to a model shop this afternoon, and found a donnor for the engine. It's amt camaro Z28 (don't know the gen. 95' model i think), with the LT-1 engine. It will give engine, rear trans/suspension, maybe front suspension too, and interior details.
I also bought 2mm x 3mm styrene to build a frame at the rear, as the new wheels don't want to fit under the fenders, so i cut off the whole rear frame of the 69' chevy. Well, i'll post pics once the frame is built and engine test fitted.

Will's actually putting an LT-1 out of a '94 Camaro in his 1:1 '69 Camaro, that's kinda funny that you decided to do it in your model!

This is will69camaro:
That's awesome your building this car with a LT1, i built a pro-touring black camaro but used an LS1 because i had it lying around from the 2002 SS kit. I would rather have put a LT1 in it because like 99civichic said that is what i'm building right now in a 1:1 scale. I should be finished with the 1:1 by the first of next year. Definitly keep us updated on this project. William |

Re: revell 69 camaro progress
Thanks for the interest, be sure i'll keep you updated.
Will, if you have ref pics of the front frame mods, drop them to me in mp (if you have some). Also how feasible would it be to put the front suspension on the 95 camaro on the 69' ?

Re: revell 69 camaro progress
This is will69camaro:
In reality it's about impossible to put the 95 camaro front end on it and it really isn't necessary. The LT1/T56 pretty much dropped right into my car (motor mounts are the same and i bought a tubular 3 piece tranny crossmember from BMR). There were no frame mods necessary. On my model that i made i chopped the front by shaving the cylinder that makes contact between the two pieces of the front suspension and it got it to sit nice and low. If you have any more questions ask away. William |
