Question No Tuners buying the skyline?

I always see old guys driving new skylines on the road and was wondering why none of the tuners were buying them. So I came into this forum to ask, too expensive?

Cost is a prohibiting factor. While many tuners want them, they simply cannot afford them. I also imagine most 'tuners', at least the young American type that know nothing of engine/vehicle performance aside from The Fast and The Furious don't deserve anything beyond an older light duty pickup.

Re: No Tuners buying the skyline?

Which tuners? American? Japanese? European? Australian?

Since you said 'Skyline,' I'll assume you meant Japan. Top Secret has a coupe. You can see it in some Volk Racing ads.
Hoshino Impul has one, and there's also Mine's, just to name a few.

I'm sure there are some others too, but they are probably waiting for the GT-R to show up.

Keep in mind what you are talking about is basically tuners doing lots of work with non-GT-Rs.

I was just talking about regular individual american tuners, not companies. BTW, I thought buying and tuning the R34, 33, 32, ect would be more expensive than the new one. Isn't it?

Cost. I would love to have and R33 or an R34 but sadly, I can only afford a Sentra.

Re: No Tuners buying the skyline?

Yea, its the cost. I here that if you wanna buy a Skyline from MotorEx you have to put all the money down, rather than pay monthly. Thats a lot of $$$. In the Fast and Furious movies young tunners have them like there common cheap cars (Civics) but in real life an R34 is around $85K. If you ask me, I'm glad young tunners cant buy them. They dont know shit about them, and most will rice them out. I get mad when I see young people drive good cars like Evos, Supras or RX7s.

American tuners are companies, too. Does Stillen count?

Buying an R32 GT-R could possibly be cheaper than buying a G35 Coupe.

I think some people are thinking I'm talking about the R33/R34 as new skylines but I'm not. I should have been more clear in stating the new skyline as Infinity's G35. Sorry for the confusion. But still, I think the R33s and R34s would be far more expensive moding than the G35. This is considering the Rs aren't even sold in the states.

Re: No Tuners buying the skyline?

the r32/3/4 are more expensive to mod simply b/c they cost so much to get here.
and then parts are imported.

people aren't tuning the v35 b/c they have the 350z.

it's the same car, shorter, sportier, and has more support.

people buying older skylines though, like my friend kyle, who has an r33 with new hks turbos, etc. are modifying them...

but the parts are rare and expensive...

I personally would rather have a Z than the G35. The Z looks better.

Re: No Tuners buying the skyline?

the z is a better handling car than the g, that's for sure.
it's shorter, has a more track tuned suspension...
both are equally quick, but the z is the racer of the two
