Red face Auriol's ST185 Monte-Carlo Rally Winner (Lots, lots of pics)

Hello Comunity!

At last I have taken pictures to my 3rd completed build, 1rst rally ever but not last, be sure! This contains many first times for me so I would like to share my experiences (mistakes) with you so if you're a newbie like me take them in consideration in making this or any model, maybe they are very obvious for more experienced... or smarters modelers

First mistake: Belive that Tamiya makes all decals on a perfect fit basis, the ones in the hood are by far the most difficult to set correctly, my advise is to fit first the part near the windshield and then cut the excces in the ligths, I made it backwards and had to retouch with "never the same on decal" green color.

Second mistake: Try to glue PE parts that need a little tension to fit correctly by putting CA Glue over a decal, they are fine for 5 min but after... they come of with a part of the decal with them. Third mistake trying to correct that with old CA gel Glue, it didn't had the rigth bond strength and in my case melted the paint leaving a ring of melted white paint arround the PE; retouched with a green white board pen.

Fourth mistake: Handling the car with bare hand after placing the decals, it got dirty and I washed it with runing water <---Fifth mistake. Sixth mistake: Polish with compound one day after washing, the decals were kind of loose and some parts of them broke; put as many parts together and continue with life as it is.

Well that's all I can share of my experiences. On with the pics! feel free to comment on them as I want to be a better modeler and your words are very helpfull...

It's hard to take the real shine of white paint but in this one I think I've made it

As a teaser I show you why I changed the build place of my yellow S2000... the kit it's so beautiful that I decided to wait until I have the scratch building ability to finish the engine bay correctly currently I'm wiring it.

So to test my none existing ability...
Toyota Sard Supra 95' with open door and wired interior, so I ask for your Knowledge and referance pictures of the interior as I only have 1 or 2 of it. please help me in this... if you have the will after such a long thread. sorry!

Thanks and comment!

Aw stop being negative, that is a great build of a great car Rodrigo Did you scratch build those attatchment points for the exhaust? Very nice.
Only suggestion I can think to make is to trim off as much of the clear carrier film from the decals before applying them, it's noticeable in a couple of shots.

it looks like you are quick to learn from your mistakes. I can't really see many of the problems you mentioned so you must have figured out how to fix them before snaping shots of them.
Excelent work, can't wait to see the s2000 and the supra.

3rd completed model and 1st rally car The model looks so good I'd think you would have much more experience! Hard to see the faults you mentioned as the complete model looks sooooo great
