Prelude SH vs 3.0 CL vs 3000GT vs GSR

Well the other day I just got my new 98 SH Prelude, great car I love it. Well anyway my friends all wanted a shot at me to see how fast the Prelude actually is. So three of my friends got in their cars which were a 2001 GSR Integra. a 97' Acura 3.0 CL and a 95 3000GT. Now the first car I went against was the 3000GT. We drove out to a long stretch of road out in the boonies where the cops never patrol and we went at it. I smoked the GT by about a car length and a half. After the race he was bitch about how he got a bad start, and I told him you got a bad start cause you drive an automatic but still he continued to bitch. I then raced the GSR. He had one mod done to his car which was a OBX muffler. We raced and I also handed him his ass also. I beat him by about a car length. Then the most suprizing of all, the CL raced me and I barley won by about a few inches of my car ahead of his. Well I just thought I share my story with you all.

good kill i think the gsr is supposed to be faster than you
those 3000gts arent that quick in the lower trim models

I think the GSR's have 170hp, but its lighter than the Prelude, I don't know if that can compensate for 30hp though. The 3000GT lower models have 160hp.
Good kills though.

my 2 friends raced each other
one had a prelude with only an exhuast and the other had a gsr with i/h/e
and they both were pretty much even with five tries.

Nice kills! What the hell was that guy talking about? How can an automatic have a bad start?

yeah the gs-r has like 170 and is lighter, it should have been able to keep up with you a little more maybe needed a tune up or somthin lol , i dunno bout beating though, i haven't tried to race a prelude yet.:sun:

about the automatic, yeah automatics are usaully more consistant at the tracks, but with honda/acura's we can usually rev up and then drop the clutch so we can have more torque at launch. Yes i know this can be done with a automatic using the brake pedal but i don't think this guy knew to use the technique of using the stall converter. But don't you think driving a stick is just more fun?

my friend has a stock 94 gs-r, and for some reason its faster than any other gs-r ive raced. Ive beaten modded gs-rs, but he walks by like 1/2 a car every time. He said it was before a certain sensor was put in or something so the 94-95s are quicker? carstats.com says the 95 was 15.2 the 94 was 15.5 and the 2000 is 15.7. it says a prelude SH is 15.5

Yea i think the 94-95 is the best year of the GSR's because it's the lightest. I believe that's it's quicker than a new one, even if the new one has intake or so.

congrats on the kills.. sounds like your having a lot of fun with your new lude.

And to all those who think that gs-r's are faster than preludes... I've raced my lude against many gsr's and never lost to any that weren't heavily mod'd. then again, i've never lost to a 5th gen lude either... but i've only raced 2 of those
