Brake fluid???WHAT THE HELL IS IT
HI.IMLOOKING AT THREADS LATELY.IM SEEING TREADS ABOUT Brake fluid.WHAT THE HELL IS Brake fluid!SORRY ABOUT THAT.SO WHAT IS THIS FING Brake fluid Brake fluid.IS IT FOR MODELING OR FOR OTHER STUFF?WHAT IS IT.COULD SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT IS THIS Brake fluid YOU CALL IT?

Brake fluid is the stuff cars have in their brake lines, it's also a very effective paint stripper.
You can get it from Auto parts stores. There is no need to type in upper case, you don't have to 'shout' at us.

Brake fluid is........brake fluid. LOL. The reason you should never get brake fluid on your car's paint is becuase it can strip it.
Thus in the modeling world some use it to strip mistake paint jobs.

Said it before and says it agian, don't use DOT4 or higher go for a lower DOT, such as DOT3. If you use DOT4 you will most likely end up with a molten body as I did.

I just use some cheap dot4 and i never have any problems (sometimes have to strip 3-4 times and still ok)
actually i'll get dot 3 if i can cos they are probably cheaper as well.. but the thing is.. i CAN'T FIND ANY DOT3 brake fluid anywhere here in new zealand!!! (maybe some kiwis here can tell me where ?)

One thing to remember is keep the stuff in an airtight container or it loses it's potency. I use a squirt bottle full of alcohol and/or water and spray the part off over a bucket.
And wear gloves definitely.

brake fluid will not hurt your skin. well i guess pro longed exposure might. but when i worked at an autodealership we mixed brake fluid in the solvent in the parts washers to prevent our hands from drying out due to the solvent
