why does everyone wanna drive faster than me?

Its really starting to make me wonder, some cars that shouldn't beat me for any reason except driver error, keeping trying to driver faster than me (if i am just driving down the street), or just starting at a stoplight. All of them have been pick-ups (not a lightning either, more like tacoma's or older rangers) or civic (or civic type cars) that have exhaust (not to say they suck, but car for car, i should win), the best car that has done this with me is an S2000 which i actually almost raced, but i was really close to home and tired, so decided against it. The thing is, why do people feel the need to pass me in normal driving, or "beat" me off the line, when i'm not racing. I mean, most of these cars aren't fast at all.....and they wanna try a Firebird Formula. The don't race all of them b/c i don't wanna bald my tires even more (almost bald), use WAY more gas, i don't wanna get a BIG ticket, and i am not pro at stick (don't want someone being able to say firebirds suck just because i suck at stick....well, not suck but not perfect yet). I just had to rant a little about this.

Well its not that i don't wanna race them, its just i can't afford to race every stock civic or integra that rolls up (not saying they suck, i'm just saying that a stock one isn't the fastest thing around).

I think having a red, yellow, or black car greatly increases your chances of this happening. Me have a coupe thats red and says turbo on the side, I guess I am just asking for it. But people do it all the time. I even had a guy in a TT Porche want to race me. I laughed at him and said don't waste your gas.

You know what pisses me off NO ONE will race me at all WTF I pull up to lights, rev up, look over, and all that shit but no one will race me. not that I think i'm all hot shit and that i can woop their ass or anything (cause most of the shit I want to race looks = or slightly faster than mine) maybe i live in the wrong area or something I don't get it.

I really wish I could have one of those day and the sad part is , is there are plenty of nice cars at my school (an S2000, XJR or XKR jaguar, some nice f-birds and stangs) and there is a red light right down from the exit too. everyones just to damn layed back. I think I'll start going to the dragstrip at least everyone there will race

WTF, a kid driving an S2000 or a Jag. Damn must be some really nice parents. Never see a thing like that at my school. We do have the occasional Firebird and Mustang though.

Yeah, you're telling me about the rich parents thing... my town is like a middle to upper middle class town, but some of the money these kids' parents must have makes me wonder why they live in this town when they can live somewhere much nicer instead of spending all their money on cars... One 17 year old girl for her first car her daddy bought her a BMW 7 series, has to be $60k, $70k I don't know exactly, but I mean come on, that's just pathetic.

Firebird, I have a similar problem to you.
Not many imports will race me, unless its a Supra.
Only get an occasional run in with a fellow F-Body or a Stang.
I wish there were more exotics for me to beat up on.

Guess I'll stick to the organized street racing scene.
That or the track...

Yeah, actually I have race a couple of people (they are usually f-body or stang drivers which is cool too ) it just happens so rarely The only person I got to race me lately was kid in a calviler (sp) my car was packed full of people and I thought he wouldn't race but he really wanted to needless to say I stalled big time and smoked by some shitbox in front of all of my friends WTF oh well
