why does everyone want to race me?

I drive a 96 Civic EX. Nothing special. SOHC with VTEC, a AEM CAI, and a 5zigen fireball catback. So scary. IT'S NOT A FAST CAR! So why does everyone want to race me? To boost their ego that their 4 banger DOHC can beat my little civic? What an accomplishment! I'm sick of 2/3 of the nights I drive home, having someone drive alongside me wanting to race! FUCK OFF i say! Just let me drive my slow car and make it pretty! Methinks I need to do a swap or put on a turbo. What do you guys think? I'm sick of all these little insecure fucktards trying to get their rocks off by beating a 127 HP Civic (AT THE SHAFT!). It's not meant for speed. Just cuz it can, LIKE ANY CAR, doesn't mean it is. But my stickers DO add 20 HP total, so maybe I can handle them. Idiots.

well i think the best way to stop people from trying to race you would be to take off the fartcan. and if it's not fast then why bother spending 150 on a intake and 500 on a catback??? and don't say because it sounds good because almost any catback on a honda sohc sounds like shite. so try takin off the exhaust, i have my catback cut off right where it goes over the axle and if i'm just cruisin no one bothers me

It should be expected when you run at least an exhaust. Did you actually think that it'd never happen? Actually it's expected when any modification is done or you choose to buy a car that is somewhat known for some sort of performance. If you did'nt want attention like this you should have bought a Geo Metro. The only thing that will solve your problem is some sort of major performance, either boost your single cam or swap. Choose the weapon of your choice and let no one influence your decision.

I know what you mean, I've got a body kit, cat, CAI, and a sound system and people always try rolling up on me. But what I'm doing to my car is for my own cares, it's what I like, plus it's a learning tool on how to work on cars. So I just laugh at those people and now and then take them on just to see if I can win or not. So think of it like that the next time someone tries rolling up on you, just laugh and say whatever. Your car, done your way, only for you. Unless you have something that you need to prove, or feel that your ego is being damaged by not racing anyone?

why do you laugh at the people, they are just trying to have some fun, (unless they are acting like gay ricers and makin fun of you not racing) but your sayin that you've nvr rolled up on someone and tried to race them?? i know if i see a nice crx or h/b in front or rollin up beside me and sounds good i would see if he wanted a quick lil run.

LOL yeah I wish it was people just having fun... I live in a college town where everyone has something to prove... and the reason I laugh is because it's people with a tip or just an exhaust that think they are going to take me (not being cocky, but I've got about every bolt on my car so I usually have power over stock cars). Plus to date I have never rolled up on someone (except for friends just screwing around), only taken a challenge that's been put forth by someone else and it's a car that looks tricked out. But that's how it goes around here, I am planning on moving in the next couple of years to somewhere that will have more of a challenge or at least be worth having fun with, not these college loosers (no offense to anyone). But that's me...

kicker1_solo - As for you, I know how to fix your problem. Just go get yourself some AEM and other aftermarket stickers and put all over your car... that will attrack the low lives....

Injen CAI w/ AEM Bypass
NGK Spark Plugs/Wires
and a stock exhaust (soon to be replaced along with the 1.6l D16 motor)
...and I get hit up by everything out there, even Turbo Bugs. If you got a Honda/Acura...plan to get fingers/laughs/and smoked! Unless of course you got a ride like Acids or B16ej's, looks can kill anything.
