AF...Clean.

After browsing a few other forums, I've been wondering how AF has managed to stay so clean. Granted, there have been a few threads posted that have showed perhaps a bit too much, or gone over the edge, but all in all, I'd have to say everyone has behaved themselves quite well...even the hormone driven teenage boys! No offense to you all... Pretty neat if you think about it...or sad, depending on your viewpoint.

Overall AF has a pretty good membership base that for the most part keeps it all good. When someone steps out of line though the Mods are there to stop it pretty quick.

seriously, the mods do a good job....The mod link in every post must help. With so many members scanning the boards, anything that offends just one member will get reported quickly and dealt with.

What is your definition of clean? Maybe I am not visiting the boards you are, but there is not a lot of content (language and pictures) differences between the sites I go to.

I think its because any one who joins the board, goes to their car's forum and browses around notices that it is full of people who flat out know their stuff and are talking seriously about things. Therefore no one thinks about this and that and starts getting into the automotive conversation.

Lol, sorry to double post but I find it ironic that directly after replying in this thread I scroll down only to see this one

DanteInf, I think its because of the sheer number of moderators. Every single post is read by at least one of them. How many are there anyway?

I have noticed that a lot of other forums are pretty foul too. I do not even curse in my posts and still receive a lot of "opinions" so I can imagine how a person from the Jaime Foxx School of vocabulary would go nuts with all the IM's from the local Flanders family of moderators that we have on this board. "How doodley do!" "Hellodley odley neighbor!"

Maybe you should tell us why you have been getting PMed. We dont car if you use the words fuck, bitch, asshole, or whatever you want. I use them all the time. So why the fuck should we care if you curse? What we dont like is spam.

Yeah, I frequent several forums too, and AF is definitely clean--especially off topic. I'd attribute this to the sheer number of mods and the general member base as well.

I think it's pretty clean here also because we have more mature members here then I have seen on other certain boards, even the teens on AF contribute more quality posts than I see on other boards.

I originally joined AF to find out information about my car. I stayed because of how informative and still fun the members and moderators keep the boards. Sure, some threads go astray, or someone gets a flame, but mostly we (and I mean EVERYONE on AF) keep that to a minimum with maturity and levelheadedness. Good job to the entire community for keeping this place tidy for all to see! :flash:
