Big improvement on 1/8th mile times

My very first run at the 1/8th mile drag strip ended up being a 10.73.
Tonight I ran a best of 10.403 with a 2.263 60 ft.
Modifications since my first run are the computer modified with the hypertech power programmer, and JBA headers. First run I only had the cat-back exhaust and a bigger MAF. It was also much cooler today, I think my first run it was like 95 degrees out.

...And my first practice run was against a 5.0 Mustang and I beat him just barely lol. I was pulling on him the whole way til a little less then 3/4's of the way down when he started gaining. I ran a 10.54 to his 10.55. Even though it was a practice run it was definately my favorite race.

Auto and probably around 3,600 lbs. I'll be putting in the 4.10 gears shortly, should be interesting to see what it will run with those.

Re: Big improvement on 1/8th mile times

Btw what do you think a 9.3 in the 1/8th can approx. be in a 1/4 mile? There was this Convertible C5, a completely gutted and primered Civic, and a 3rd gen blue Trans Am that all ran this at the track and I'm just curious to what that might be around.

I did a 9.004 at 82.95MPH in the 1/8th mile and pulled a 13.750 at 104.15MPH. This was with the old motor and upgraded 60-1 wheel turbo.

Re: Big improvement on 1/8th mile times

My fastest time in the 1/8 mile is 8.907 @82.07 with my 99 SS and that was stock my 1/8 mile time actually got slower when i put in a new intake lid and a K&N filter but my mph at the end of the 1/4 increased. but thats also on different tires.
