c5 vert vs. m3.

Ok so I was headin' home on the 10 doing 70.. In the rearview, three cars approach at a quick pace... two of them end up being just regular cars... but the thirs.... much to my delight, a c5 convertable. Shiny black.. she looked nice.

I let all of them pass me up, but quickly got on the c5's ass. From behind I could tell that he has a modified exhaust. Tips were different as were the piping. The vette wasn't really that loud though(but it was loud enough for me to hear him hit the rev limiter). So I down shift to 4th, and get on it a little to catch back up to the car... as I pull along side, I'm doing about 90 or so... I give it some gas, but I really couldn't tell if he got on it at all or not becuase I know them LS1's are so darn strong. So I fully floor it and pull a few cars on him. I let off because I didn't notice him taking chase...

I keep her in fourth as I let the engine slow me down... vroooooooom was really all I heard when he passed me pretty damn hard. I caught back up to him and put him at my door. I figured he wanted to play, and that I need some advantage so I floor it going about 90 in fourth. I put about half a car on him before I see his head lights pop up a little. A car in front of him was in his lane, so he had to move or jam on the brakes. As he changes lane to avoid this car, I hear him hit his rev limit as my engine screams at 6k+ rpm.. hehehe.. After he upshifted he proceeded to pull about 3 cars on me by approximately 130mph.

WHEW! 130 was good enough for me.. and he was about to pull another 5 cars on me in about two seconds because my govenor is supposed to be around 137....

At first, I was like WOW.. I hung with a c5 sorta!! Then I remembered I punched it first... and I was infront of him.... and he had to change lanes to avoid a car...... and he also hit his rev limiter pretty hard.....

Oh well.. it was quite the fun night!!

Sounds like fun.... Nice to hear the Vette boys playing instead of acting like there to cool for it.

Re: c5 vert vs. m3.

my buddy just got a new vette. Im not sure if its the C5, but with borla exhaust and a chip he said he got it up to 160 at the track and then decided to lay off cause it was scaring the shit out of him. Said he had pleanty more peddle room and i would believe it. my parents used to own a78 white stingry, oh how i loved that car, it was fast as hell, scary fast the way it would excellerate. But they sold it before i got my liscense. . .bastards!!!

Im glad the c5 ran you, you don't find to many c5 owners that will run! Don't expect me to run on the highway, to low of gears and only a 3 speed! Good run!
