The Funniest story....

I live in southern tennessee, so its mostly dominated by domestic muscle cars....so....
I was in my STOCK 88 civic hatch. (hey im 15, whaddaya expect?) and i was goin down the highway, and i say a mid-eighties camaro.... and i noticed the nice paint and hot-rod looks on it....
well i say by it for a while....and i hear something...i dont know what it is.... when it got closer i realized it was the crank turning! that thing must have had at least 500hp......so i eye the driver and take off.....u kno, just playin around. welll around 110mph he passes me up like im sittin still....then at a stop light, i looked at him reakky cocky....then i couldnt help myself, i revved the motor up at him......he revved louder....i just busted out laughing and gave him a thumbs up.....lol...

Re: The Funniest story....

a crank and a supercharger are nowhere near each other in a motor...

so i'd assume he meant the crank, or he heard the lope of the cam, which (if it had as much power as he assumes) is a pretty lopey cam.

Well, he may have heard the whine of the super charger too, and just mis spoke it as the crank. You can't really hear the lope of a cam unless its idleing. But who knows, lol.

Re: The Funniest story....

i'm well aware of what all of these things sound like...
you can definitely hear the difference between a mild/wild cam, even at speed...

Re: The Funniest story....

I never said you wasn't, I just said more then likely he heard the whine of a supercharger. I don't think he'd have a good enough ear (hell, I know I wouldn't and that race car I have pictured has a pretty aggressive cam) to tell a cammed to death motor at speeds.
