Arrow Mods Look Here...

First off, Im the proud owner of a 1994 Honda Prelude VTEC.

I just received the car. As i understand it is one of a kind. The only model with 190bhp and VTEC.

To be honest, i have been involved in this car culture for a long time now. I have owned an accord and a civic in the past 4 years, all show winners.

What can i do to my 94 lude vtec to make it extremly fast, and unbeatable. So far i have a CAI, with a dual exhaust, upgraded flywheel and short shifter. No performance springs, but 2 strut tower bars (front, rear) How much horsepower do u think i have at the wheels? The car came stock with a h22a1.

Where should i start first. Any ideas?

Why is it best for me to run single piping on my exhaust?
what kind of gains would i get if i chopped off my dual piping, and went back to single.

Hope you guys can help me.

Nick-

well first off, the dual exhaust is pointless.

and how much money do you have to spend? excluding i/h/e, the rest of the real power makers are not very cheap. i would suggest upgrading your ignition and valvetrain.

and youre probably making somewhere in the 160's. i wouldnt expect you made much from what youve done so far... and technically, to get the proper gains from even the smallest mod, tuning would need to be done afterwards.

Re: Mods Look Here...

of course!

I want to upgrade the ignition to MSD, thats on the way. Im getting rid of my dual ASAP!!! I crave to have it back to single! I am looking into a GReddy 4-1 header, because i hear that is the only reliable header for a small budget. I want to upgrade the cams, but damn! so expensive. Any suggestions there?
The CAI on the car is some undergound one, not like AEM or the pro's out there. Would changing that make any diffrence? I mean an intake is an intake. why spend so much?

I know you get what you pay for, and im not about to go out and by cheap. I would just like some help

Re: Mods Look Here...

Im also interested in a bigger throttle body. But am having a hard time finding one. I understand RC Engenerring makes a real nice one, with decent power gains for 150 a pop. Any body know anything about throttle bodies for the 4th gen? thanks

all intakes are basically the same, youre just paying more for the name and the fact that theyre carb exempt. get a 70mm tb, and the greddy header only comes 4-2-1. its not the best, but its probably the best of the legal headers. if you want a header better than that, youll be spending 600+

as far as cams go, i have crowers. and theyve worked great for me... 195whp w/ full exhaust. very worth it, but you gotta have at least a grand to spend for a full valvetrain.

Re: Mods Look Here...

ya, that means i gotta save for now. Do u suggest i get the cams before my header? I have heard about the infamous SMSP header and the mugen, etc.. To me i just need something that wil help breathe, and give me a little on the side. Where can i get a 70mm Throttle body?
thnx

right now, i have a stock intake manifold, throttle body and and dc header(basically stock). upgrading all those would help, but its not necessary. if i were you i would save up for the cams first. and keep your stock header until you can get a good one, such as a sms. you can find tb's all over the place, ebay for one. and my boy at the shop said the b series tb's will fit an h manifold... which is good, cause they always go for a little less from what ive seen.

im still trying to get money for a new header, this one specifically

too damn bad its $900

Re: Mods Look Here...

I agree 100% with the stock igniton

Also if you are wanting it to be unbeatable like you said, then I think that boost might be the best path, N/A motors require alot of extra money and time, alos they become unstreetable when really high hp levels are reached. If it was me I would save all that money you were going to spend on cams, header etc and build a turbo kit or buy a kit. Also if you want some high hp numbers sleeving the block will be a must.
