Question

How do you actually use a NOS system? Say I want to kill this riced-out Civic next to me, what do I do to use NOS? Thanks in advance!

You don't need NOS to beat a Civic

I'll tell ya the legal way, and safe way. First, when you got to the TRACK, you would turn the bottle on in the trunk, unless you had a remote opener. Then, you would check that you had 900 psi, or use you bottle heater to get the right temp(unless its really hot out of coarse). Then, when you line up on the track, you arm the first safety switch, the light click down and you go. 1st gear will be no good with NOS on both stick and auto, so you wait until second, and then you hit your arm button. Your window switch should not allow NOS below 3k rpms, but since your racing, you should be above that anyway. The fuel pressure safety will make sure your getting good flow, and then the NOS will go. Kick, bye bye. If you have a real trick system, you can set it up so that all you do is arm it. When it hit's second it will automaticaly start the NOS. Just extra $$$ but added safety also. Race that riced out civic on the street and pop your NOS. Better hope no cop is around, or your going to jail But to each his own, deny everything, even in the face of overwhelming evidence. It doesn't work, but it's worth a shot. :smoka:

How does a $1500 nos kit that is very easy to hook up through your injectors that replaces your ecu and all you do is arm it then when on full throtle as soon as you hit 2000rpm it kicks in till you let your foot of the gas sound? Btw it gives 62 hp on the early 90's models and not sure if they make them for the new ones yet they probably do though. well here they are JWT www.jimwolftechnology.com they know nissan like no one else.

You can also go to JCWhitney until June 1st and get a NOS kit for $375 shipped. It is a basic kit that comes with a 40 and a 60 shot jets. You will still need gauges to be safe, I recomend a fuel pressure gauge, and an a/g ratio meter at least. The NOS kit comes with a fuel pressure switch that will cut off the NOS if fuel pressure dips for any reason. I would also recommend getting a window switch, only about $30, but it can save you from bouncing off your rev limiter and destroying your engine For the ultimate in safety though, a JWT kit is probably the best way to go. If you feel like doing a lot of the work yourself though, and only spending around $500, then go with the NOS kit.

what ever you do don't buy a "wet" system that has seprate injectors JWT told me it will make it run way lean and burn pistons!!! theirs is a dry system that runs it through the fuel injectors also the ecu they give you with the system adjusts jetting when the NOS is running.

The NOS system just requires careful tuning and common sence. The JWT system I think is excelent, and if I had the money and a 95-96 I would deffinetly go for it. You just have to play it safe and not get too gas happy with the NOS kit without the proper upgrades. You wanna play, you gotta pay 60 shot and below you should be okay with minor tuning. 70 and above, you need a new fuel pump and some more intensive tuning. Common sence goes a long way. Just take it easy, start off with a low shot, and build on that as your experience increases. Good luck.

NOS

IF YOU DONT KNOW JACK ABOUT NOS AND YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT MUCH, BETTER OF STAYING AWAY, ITS JUST BETTER OFF NOT USED. OTHERWISE GO TO A LOCAL AUTO SHOP THAT SELLS/INSTALLS IT AND TALK TO THEM THEY CAN HELP YOU THE BEST IF THEY SPECIALIZE IN THAT STUFF. Personally I think its cool stuff, everyone in school wont race my Maxima, kind of sucks, but at least no one is talking crap on it.

Damn I missed that. I'm going to take pictures of my install as I do it next week. Probably going to take me a while as I don't want to screw anything up.

I taped it but there wasn't that much technical info. The best part was watching them dyno after the install. Damn, I need a dyno in my garage.
