broke sensor need help!!!!

i a lil ligh blue sensor under my vtek broke it is a 96 del sol no clue what the sensor is honda cant even tell me anyone know. sence it has broke the car back fires and sputter like it is miss fireing. anyone know what it is or what it does?

I think it has to do with your timing and your distributor(which is right by the VTEC solenoid). rewire it and plug it back in and the problem should stop.
