Question Performace Figures Please

Does anyone has performance figures for a manual Gtst R33 Series II?

I am getting mixed figures !!!!

Can someone tell me it will do 0-100 in less than 6s.

Just about to get one, hence need to know to avoid frying the clutch.

Thumbs down Stock, No

A stock GTS25t S2 (or 1) won't do 0-100km/h in under 6sec.

Low to mid 6's depending on the launch.

Feel free to prove me wrong though

Low 6's aye.

How many kw's at wheels, do you know?

I heard it has 187kw at flywheel. Sounds reasonable.:smoka:

Thumbs up RWKW for a GTS25t

The manual GTS25t has 250ps or 184kw (flywheel) it's often written up as 187kw. The autos are 245ps or 180kw. These figures are straight out of the Nissan Japan factory specs booklet.

On a Dyno Dynamics dyno "most" stock manual GTS25t's get ~130rwkw.

Thumbs up

Thanks pal.

Yeah, now I have confidence in it. 130rwkw sounds awright.

Based on that I think it should manage under 6s for 0-100 on an average launch.

How is it compared to a HSV GTO, or a WRX (Stock) and STi, or an Integra Type-R, or a 200SX.

Sorry to be a bug, but just researching like anyone else would do. Just that I have options and I want to be able to take the right one.

By the way, I am bending towards a GTsT II.

Feel free to give me your thoughts.

GTsTrip.

Thumbs up Your not buggin' me mate

If you haven't already?, go check this site out............. www.skylinesdownunder.co.nz

It's a very good Skyline site (I'd say the best there is!!!) Plenty of Aussie members with various levels of mods etc... (I'm "whatsisname" on there too).

As for the car options you've suggested, well they're all excellent cars in one way or another it really comes down to personnel preferences

HSV GTO (Expensive!!!, nice exhaust note, "potential" LS1 engine issues with oil consumption )

WRX STi (My ol' man has a white 2dr V5 STi, awesome fun!!! very quick point to point, street racer material )

Integra Type R (Great FWD chassis, not as quick as the other options, harder to make it LOT's quicker unlike the rest)

S14 200SX (Cheap, fast, good fun RWD chassis, cheap~ish to make very fast!!!)

S15 200SX (Awesome potential, shame Nissan OZ didn't give us the "real" package)

S15 Japanese spec R Silvia (The only down side is the price, 45k 2nd hand, but these thing are fantastic!!! 12sec 1/4's with stock turbo!!!)

R33 GTS25t S1 or S2 (= performance from both series. A great all rounder, nice out on the open road or in the twisty stuff, good upgrade potential, for a moderate cost (5-10k) can be very very fast)

An extra you should seriously consider...........

R32/33 GT-R (R32 getting old, but still very good examples to be found for reasonable prices, costly to make BIG power but cheap to make FAST!!!, the best of both worlds in the handling department)

My 2.2c

Talking

Thanks mate.

Appreciate your advise. Very accurate too. I have done a bit of research of my own.

Outa all the cars I mentioned, I dunno what it is, but the Skyline has interested me most. The shape, rear-round lights (just love em), the big 6cyl outlook. Not to forget the performance potential.

I was interested in a GTR, but they are pretty expensive in Aussie. Esp R33. Even R32's are costly.

Will definitely get a S2 Gtst. Have seen/driven one. One thing, when I step on the gas from a standing position, bet 2000-3500 rpms, there is a vibrating sound that seems to come from, I think the exhaust. It is not the engine. Either from a standing start, or trying to lower gears and floor it, the sound kicks in, for split second. The car doesn't lose power or shake...wonder what it is...anything major? Could it be gear-box?

Cheers.

Send a message via AIM to flylwsi
why not ask the same question in the performance section of the skyline forum?
