Lightning gets "Struck" !!!

Well, my brother-in-law's best friend just traded in his '95 Camaro Z28 in on a 2001 Ford Lightning. He swears the thing is "SOOO FAST"....
Anyways, he had stopped by a few days earlier to show me the car and I must admit, the truck is very impressive. But not really a match.

Anyways, I'm out cruisin' around when I see him go passed me at a light. I quickly make the turn and follow. After a couple of minutes, I catch up and he notices me. Immediately, he gooses the throttle to let me know he's game, only problem is, there's too much traffic to be able to play.
He rolls his window down and says "Hey, follow me real quick"
I follow him back into an industrial complex and he pulls to the side of the road.
"We'll goto that truck up ahead" he said as he pointed to the finish marker (which was approx 1/8 mile ahead).
"Alrighty, go ahead when ever you're ready" I told him.
Now, I knew I couldn't give it full throttle or else the tires would just go up in smoke, so launching was going to be tricky.
He said "Ready, Set....GO!" and punched it. He grabbed traction pretty quickly as I rolled onto the throttle. At 50% throttle I was almost dead even with him. As soon as I felt the Nitto's bite down and grab, I gave it full throttle. The exhaust blarred and I immediately started to pull away with ease. After putting a few cars on him, I shut down (before the marker truck) and coasted down to a safe speed.
I pulled over and he told me "God DAMN that thing's FAST! You better be carefull with that thing!"
"Alrighty," I replied, "take it easy!"

We went on our seperate ways, but he left knowin that he just got SMACKED! And I left with a HUGE smirk!

It's away.
It only came out because it was nice and I needed a set of tires for the front. Had to go have 'em put on.

Those lightnings are pretty damn quick - even if they are a pickup. Nice kill!

Yeap, the Lightenings are no joke. Run mid-high 13s straight off the showroom floor.

my buddy has a stock 2000 or 2001 white lightning and he told my brother he ran a 13.2 , My brother and i raced him in his 2001 SLP engineering camaro SS, and had him by like 4 car lengths. I think he was bullshitting about the 13.2

SLP Engineering...
Hah.
You don't really have to add in the "engineering"....
The companies name is "SLP".

Good kill on your brothers part though. Always good to smack a Ford around!
'01 Lightnings are usually in the 13.5 range. Unless that Lightning your bro raced was modded, I can't see it running a 13.2 stock.

BTW, Lightnings are VERY easy to get into the 12's but afterthat, 11s are damn near impossible without a 2nd power adder.
