Got my new Prelude!

Iīve bought a nearly new 2.2i VTEC Prelude (200hp) yesterday and I have to say: "I really LOVE it!" Itīs a damn comfortable and IMO fast car as far as I can say that in the moemnt!! It has run about 14.700 miles yet but the engine is brand new because the first one was one of these "millenium-problem-engines" (it has been built in year 2000). It has got the red Type-R valve cover because itīs an unmodified ATR engine, at least the dealer told me that. So it has got the normal 200hp engine in it. But I havenīt driven it over 4.500rpm yet because I have to "drive it in" first (??). So I havenīt hit VTEC much yet. But itīs already pretty fast IMO at 4.500rpm! It has got climate control, cruise control (or system or whatever) and remote control stock and Iīve ordered clear turning lights, DC-Sports front upper strut tower bar, Eibach springs and Koni yellows at the garage of a good friend of mine today. Exhaust sounds fine so Iīm not going to change it. Iīll drop it about 1,4" so I hope I wonīt need a camber kit for that drop.
The only problem with the car is that it has been outside over the last few months in a very cold and snowy region of germany. So it was full of snow and ice in the last weeks and the stupid mechanics of the dealer just put it of with a brush and now it has got scratches all over the paint!! But Iīm going to get it polished professionally so that most of the scratches should be gone after that. My friend with the garage has already taken some pictures with his digital camera so that I should be able to put some pics in here in the next days. But itīs really dirty from the 630km travel to take it home yesterday. Iīll put some new pics in here again when itīs lowered and polished.
Finally everything will be fine at the end and I`m really really happy about everything related to my new ride!!!

Thanx, bros! All cars have got such a "fog-light" over here. When itīs foggy on the "Autobahn" (or highway) we have to put it on so that cars behind us can see us a lot better! (itīs very brightlight)

By the way, fierce, how do you like your CAI?

It sounds great, didnt notice any gains though.
Not worth it if your only going to get an intake, but if you plan on getting headers and an exhaust too, definantly get one

Really?? Iīll replace them with white ones. I donīt like orange lights on a car except the car is orange itself!

So is there any other cheaper intake which wonīt hurt performance?I mean, I didnīt want to buy it because of the hp gain but because of the nice sound. I donīt want to buy an exhaust system because I īdonīt want my ride to be loud all the time anymore! What woulde you recommend me? Should I just remove the resonator and put a K&N drop-in filter in the stock air-box? Thanx in advance!

you can do a custom intake with a K&N air filter. K&N is actually a very good filter, plus it's reusable. that's what i used to have on my ride. IMO, it's no different than the AEM other than it's not as cool-looking in the engine bay. i may sell my AEM and go back to a custom made CAI. i don't know yet.

I use a short ram intake because of the amount of rain we get here in florida. I'm scared of snorkeling water if i get a CAI. and although there probably arent any HP gains it looks and sounds real nice. and the best part was that it only cost like 50 bucks on ebay

like del said, removing the resonator and dropping in a stock K&N filter will do wonders for the car... it sucks cold air up like the CAI due to the funnel below the stock filter box.

as for exhaust, maybe something like a Thermal R&D... very tame, nice and quiet. can get a bit loud at 3000-4000 rpm, but then it just goes quiet again. plus, it looks completely stock, except it's all stainless steel, so it'll last a lifetime.

also, maybe consider the factory Honda aero kit for it

I think Iīll do it like del has said it because I donīt have any money left in the moment!
Iīve already thought about the factory Honda aero kit too but the one which is available in europe is really ugly compared to the US one!
