Type R vs GTS

I pulled up next to a Celica the other night at a stoplight and he threw a rev.. I didn't hear a sneeze so I went for it. I floated my needle at 5500, light turned green and I eased the clutch out with the gas going in. He got a little jump at first, I'm guessing because they've got some torque on me.. but I caught up and passed him around 50mph and kept pulling for the win.

I searched around the web for a race like this and found a video of exactly what happened, minus the japanese talking

Re: Type R vs GTS

man it seems like the aftermarket is embrassing the celicas cause i see them in magazines but i rarely see them around like modified ones the ones i see are often piloted by older women

Re: Type R vs GTS

they are pretty quick but the power band is very small, only a few hundred rpms once you hit lift
most of the celicas around here are driven by girls or older women too,
why is that?

lol yeah ive noticed that to and its mainly because Young girls have daddys who buy them little Celica GT automatics that they think are "Cute". Now idk about the older women lol, and besides insurance is cheaper on celicas for girls any how. And a GTS is still pretty fucking pricey thats why Ive been looking into a GSR instead. Besides slap on a JDM front end on a GSR even with no body kit it looks better. Plus the wheel base is better in an Integra so it tucks into the Apex of a corner better then the celica. The Celica has to many flaws in its design its a capable car but when they set up the body they fucked up. The bitch is un forgiving in really high speed turns and you understeer like a bitch and are un able to have enough traction on the tires to recover. Not to mention in tight turns its also a bitch lol but hell Ide still buy one to pimp some biotches in. But the braking is pretty fucking awesome on a Celica GTS fuck a GT though lol.

Re: Type R vs GTS

I raced an GT-S before I totaled my R. We raced from about 65 to 140 on an freeway. I was probably 500 feet in front of him

Re: Type R vs GTS

500ft is a quite large gap, and a gts with a good driver is not exactly slow up top, does anyone know if they have a set top speed?
