Question TDi Z1 engine direction indicator stops flashing when brake pedal is depressed

When driving and when indicating a turn the flasher works but as soon as there is any pressure on the brake pedal the direction indicator stops flashing.

Does anyone know what may be causing this problem?

More recently, driving along motorway (freeway) and glow plug indicator starts to blick (on/off). A slight depression on the brake stops the glow plug indicate from blicking on/off. But sometime later it starts again.

There is no obvoius fault with the function of the vehicle.

key words: direction indicator stops flashing blicking depress brake pedal Z1, TDi

Re: TDi Z1 engine direction indicator stops flashing when brake pedal is depressed

If this is an A3 body it is probably a bad connection at the taillight bulb holder. There is an eight pin in-line connector that commonly corrodes (usually the ground wire connector fails). A blinking glow plug indicator usually means water in the fuel. Check & drain the water seperator.
