Skyline Inline 6 twin turbo in 300z?

Hi I am new to this forum and I'm sure similar questions have been asked before.
I would like to buy an imported skyline twin turbo 6 speed engine/tranny and put it in a 90'-96' 300z. I have heard of it being done, but dont know the complications involved?
I know that the package includes the whole front clip of the skyline taken off and kept as a whole, engine, tranny, everything, so there would be no rebuilding or reassembling of anything, I'm just wondering how I'm gonna fit an inline 6 where a V6 used to be, and if its worth the time and money?
any insight is apprechiated, thanks
Derek

Re: Skyline Inline 6 twin turbo in 300z?

Is it worth it? Well, that's really up to you! I have seen pix of the swap... but don't know the gritty details about how they did it. I'm sure it requires some fabrication... but I know that the transmissions are similar and should bolt in place fairly easy. I would love to see someone do this swap stateside... awhile ago I also wanted to try it... if you do it, let me know how it turns out!

It's been done before, heres the link to a pic http://www.z32.com/newpics/z2gtr.jpg
I think your problem would be with emissions, but I'm sure it could be over come, I dont know how much RB26's go for, but im sure its not that cheap. I know i can get a VG30DETT for about 3 grand though,

A SKYLINE clip will run you 'round $5,000.

tom use the six speed from the Skyline GT-R you would have to convert to all wheel drive. Otherwise you would use the getrag six speed from a supra or the 5 speed from a RWD skyline GTS.

which is the rb25dett, and DJPHAT, the car will look horible with that motor in thier it cant keep the stock hood because the motor is to high, and the difficulty of it is definetley not for a 1st timer
