Twin-turbo Skyline engine in an NSX....
So before anyone laughs at me for even bringing this up I was wondering:
Do you think the skyline engine would fit in the NSX? I would tend to think so seing as the skyline is a straight six, so it should be a bit more narrow right? The reason I was asking is because the naturally aspirated NSX engine has a compression ratio of 10.2:1 and Please correct me if Im wrong but wouldnt reving at 7 or 8 thousand rpms with more than 10 lbs of boost cause the engine to detonate/blow? The highest hp I have seen on an NSX is around 430 or so running twin turbos at 7-9lbs however, I see skylines (compression of 8:5:1) pushing in excess of 600HP and they redline at around 7,500 right? What do you think? yay or nay? (I'm not looking to be ridiculed just educated) |

Re: Twin-turbo Skyline engine in an NSX....
First off, it's basically impossible because the NSX is a mid-engine rear drive vehicle, whereas the Skyline is a front-engine rear drive vehicle. The transmissions are set up for completely different cars so it wouldn't work.
Second, you can build a C32 (NSX engine) to be low compression or high compression. You can also stroke or de-stroke it. The same holds true for a the skyline motor. Your horsepower potential with either motor is basically limited to how much money you have but I guarantee there are NSX's with way more than 430hp. |

Re: Twin-turbo Skyline engine in an NSX....
Ok well in that case, do you think that this turbo kit is a bunch of Bullsh**?
http://www.turbochargedpower.com/91-...cura%20NSX.htm I have heard nothing of this kind of power before except on: http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/inf...ion/index.html supposedly it had like 700hp... |

Re: Twin-turbo Skyline engine in an NSX....
I don't think its bs at all there's a guy on the NSX boards NSXPrime that has a 95X with over 120k stock bottem end, stock heads, stock trans, Gt35R (big turbo LOL) and all of the basic things needed for a turbo setup nothing special. Ohh and a stage 3 clutch and flywheel. He ran a 10.78@136. The cars I see doing that are right around 500wheel plus. So I would say that kit is very on target.

Re: Twin-turbo Skyline engine in an NSX....
why would you want to swap a v6 that has a bigger bore than the skyline's rb26, basically nsx's engine is more powerful than the skyline's? yeah maybe the skyline is a supercar but if u dig up the engine and compare with the nsx's, nsx is more powerful
