head bolt washers yes or no

have a 1983 escort putting on new head, the bolts I have, say do not use washers with them. But have been told to use washers. Old ones have washers. Any help?

well lets put it this way, if the car ran and the head bolt had washers, then put washers on it, wont hurt.

If the instructions for the parts you have say not to use washers, then without question, you should not use washers. I am not certain if I have ever seen head bolts with washers....
