91 AWD TSI questions

Just got one for 100bux.. its blue with silver ground effects........the headgasket is bad and so is the waterpump......I also got a 1991 plymouth laser turbo for the motor .........can anyone tell me how difficult it is to change the head gasket or maybe just the whole motor......never worked on a dsm before very very familiar with hondas........all I've heard about a dsm is that there nightmares so if one of you could give me a quick heads up on what I'm about to get myself into.......I'd very much appreciate the help......

i would replace the motor i've done 5 91-94 dsm motors, in and out in a day, with a lift; without prob 2-3...lift just makes things so much easier
