Unhappy 1995-1996 Sad, sad Story...HELP needed...

I have a sad sad story. Some guy weaving in-and-out of 5:00 traffic screwed me over. He weaved right toward me and I swerved to avoid being hit, and my whole driver side was rubbed up against 3 of those huge round construction barrels you see on the interstate.

Not only do I have tons of white marks running down the side of my car now, but I also have a shattered mirror.

Does anybody know where I can get a replacement mirror, preferablly aftermarket....maybe with the expensive looking turn-signals in the mirrow, or maybe carbon fiber, or even a stock replacement....but if I'm going to replace it anyways, it's just a good excuse to fix-up my car even more with aftermarket parts...

Also, any suggestions on getting rid of those rub marks? I tried just rubbing them of and using my finger nail, but no luck...I just wish I got the MF's license plate...

If you want, I can post some pics of the poor car...

Thanks,
Andrew

I don't know about the mirror, try ebay maybe. I'd try a good rubbing compound(3M or similar) to get the marks off. My friend ran into a barrel and had orange paint on his white car...bug and tar remover took it off. Just some Ideas for ya to try.
Kevin.

Well, the rubbing compound worked...now I just need to wax it again...

Also, still can't find a replacement for my shattered mirror... I'm gonna try to just pull off the sharted glass part and maybe carve a new mirror in the correct shape and attach it to the plastic...How does this sound?

I busted my driverside mirror one day and my dealership ordered the part from Nissan and the heated was $63, no that is just the glass part not the whole unit. I didnt know if u were talking about the whole actual unit or not, but i also rechecked www.custommaxima.com and you are right they r no longer on the site, sorry.

Well, I just got a new one this weekend and installed it. I was lookin on eBay and found one from some company...I gave them a call and ordered it over the phone...

Only thing is, when I went to install it, my old mirror had 2 electronical wires...this new one only had one...both the old one and new one are power mirrors...and I tested the new one to make sure it moved in all directions (up, down, left and right)

Any ideas?

Also, this new one seems to be kinda blurry....maybe it's the quality of mirror they used, or maybe my mind is playing a trick on me..., but it works better than a shattered one...

Well, that's the thing..I dont think I had heated mirros, and there is no switch in my car that says "Heated Mirrors" or anything...so unless the heated mirrors automatically come one when I turn on my defrost or something...then I dont think I did....

heated mirrors come on when you try your car on, theres no switch for them, easiest way to tell if you have heated mirrors is when you dont have to wipe off the ice or snow off them after you try your car on for about 3 mins. and how much did you get the mirror off ebay??

Re: 1995-1996 Sad, sad Story...HELP needed...

I got the mirror for about $70...and I guess I prob. do have heated mirrors then (well, now I only have one) because I've never had to wipe the snow or ice off after driving my car for a while.
