Cherokee/ Grand Cherokee
Hi...Do the cherokee's share the same engine as the grand cherokee's? Just asking cause I do not know which model to get, I hear the cherokee's are very reliable but I dunno about the grand cherokee's.

Re: Cherokee/ Grand Cherokee
some Grand cherokee's have the 4.0L I6 but most have a V8, i had a 93 Grand cherokee with a I6 it was slow as hell but ran good and strong the gas milage was slightly substandard because a grand wieghs 5300 lbs.

I would suggest a Cherokee. The I-6 in those in my opinion are much better and stronger. I have a 1990 Cherokee and my brother has a 1993 Grand Cherokee mine has 200,000 miles his has 120,000 and I think engine wise anyway mine has cost atleast $1000 less not to mention the transmission on the Grand Cherokees do not hold up well. Again just my opinion but I hope it helped.

I would get a cherokee over a GC. It depends on what you want, really. There's the cherokee, then there's the sport variant. The GC's come in laredo and Ltd as well. I've driven a V8 GC and a V6 cherokee sport, and I like the cherokee better.

If you get a GC make sure it has the 318 in it because then I6 hates having to pull the heavy ass GC around. The 4.0L is better suited for the lighter Cherokee.
