point systems

Quick question, so I have a bunch of friends who drive/speed like idiots (myself included) down in pennsylvania anyway most of them have been pulled over and gotten their tickets reduced to "disobeying a traffic control device" Now in PA this ticket has no points and is only like $105. So a friend in NY ran a red light accidently and got in an accident, the cop showed up afterwards and wrote her a ticket for running it. But she was crying and everything, so the cop felt sorry and said go to court and ask for a plea bargain. So she did, she was really worried the whole time, but I kept reassuring her that if he suggested it, then the traffic control device ticket was going to be the likely outcome. I assured her that it was only $105 and no points. Well stupid me, we go to the arraignment, meet with the assistant DA and he offers the disobeying the traffic control device, I smile, he then proceeds to tell us that it is 2 points...I frown. Long story short, I realize that PA has a 6 pt license system, NY has a 12 pt system. In retrospect we probably should have gone to court and argued reasonable doubt, being that the cop wasn't present for the accident, he just arrived on the scene...but hindsight is always 100% clear.
My question is what kinds of point systems do you all have in various states/countries?

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: point systems

in OH i'm pretty sure it's 12 if not more. my cousin has gotten pulled over 5 times in the past year (between going 75 in a 25 in the SUV and just driving the Ferrari) and he still has his license. he says one more ticket and its suspended, so based on that i'd say it's a 12 pt. system, although 75 in a 25 seems like more then a 2 pt. offense to me.
