California Point System

i just recently recieved another ticket for speeding, this is my third speeding ticket within 2 years and my 2nd one within 6 months. Yes i'm dumb...blah blah blah. I went to traffic school for my first speeding ticket, and am now left with these two that i cannot go to traffic school for.

What i'm wondering is what the point system is in California. It would be nice to know how many points you are allowed to have before getting your license taken away.

:::Potentially dumb quesiton below:::

if given a speeding ticket in another state, does it get transferred over to your insurance? or do you just have to pay the fine?

Re: California Point System

cant rember totaly but i belive it is 6 or 8 points, small stuff is one point ( no stop at red light for a right turn ect... and going only a few mph above spped limit, real speeding is 2 points, and exibition and hard core stuff is 3+ points. dont take my word on it but i think I had like 4-6 tickets beofre my licnces got taken away. funny story about the licnces tho was that they send a letter to your home once they find you have excedded your point limit ( at least that is what they did to me ) well I wasnt living at my home of record at the time and never got it, later got pulled over and they told me my licnces was suspended and made me park my car and took it away. but it was suspended 5 monthes ago and for a total time of 6 monthes and I got it back a month later :P

cali has three strikes law so you betta be good for the next 6 months.
You insurance will find out before your state and yes you get points in your home state, it just takes a while for them to get back. If you got a ticket out of state and you already maxed on points you will get a letter summonig you to court to explain(beg) for your license.

a cousin of mine had like 2 stop sign tickets and 1 or 2 speeding tickets and we were on the freeway comming home from camp. it was a 2 lane freeway for that sector and on one lane it was a truck on the other a shit load of bikers well my cousin wanted to pass the bikers so he kept reving his engine behind so they parted to let him go.

My cousin floors it hits like 90 (we were doing something like 120 earlier)and we pass a cop so the cop pulls him over. well he got him for speeding 85 in a 65 or 70 can't remember, no proof of insurance, seat belt, and tinted windows. He thought for sure that his license was gone. but it wasn't. So 2 or 3 speeding tickets won't get it suspended unless its like 100+.

when the cop came up on the passenger side i was sitting shotgun and the cop goes your sitting shotgun why didn't you tell him to slow down and i'm all looking at him like wtf u saying. so then he goes to write the ticket and my cuz goes his right and i look at him and go shut the fuck up if i said something you would have:

a)called me a pussy
b)gone faster
c)never let me hear the end of it

sorry for the long post
