94 pont. transport

3.1 litre will not start, i am going to change spark plugs and change oil. fuel pump works, it has spark. will fire up poorly for a few seconds if i put gas down the tbi. no check engine light even when the key is first turned on. does not respond to scan. injectors do not seem to be working. how do you determine if it is qdr's. or is there a relay to the pcm? thanks, toivo

First thing before you replace any parts is to do a little diagnosis first.

Check the fuses for the ecm and the fusible links at the starter..with no CEL most likely you have a power problem to the ECM...There is usually 2 battery power feeds and 1 switched ignition feed to the ECM

Re: 94 pont. transport

gm, i took the dash panel out and the bulb is good to the check engine light, the injectors do not fire at start up. i looked under the kick panel on the pass. side and found a connector marked -ped- not plugged in. as yet i do not know where this goes. i did not check the power to the ecm at starter as it was snowing yesterday and the vehicle is outside. ground to aldl is o.k. i still need to double check fuel pressure. i will check what you mentioned as soon as weather permits. toivo

Re: 94 pont. transport

gmmerlin, everything i looked at said no ground at the ecm, so i took it out and looked inside and found a blown diode. could not see the value of it so a new ecm has been ordered. thank you, toivo
