R34 electronics

Hi, I was wondering a few things. I'm going to put a RB26DETT into a 240SX. I was wondering if I got the R34 and the ECU...what would I have to do to make the electronics work with it, because I heard that with the right electronics you can change traction control, from AWD to RWD and things like that. So with that in a 240SX what would I have to modify to make those options work?

Thanks again.

-Mark

That makes no sense! You would have to change the whole drive train, and the electronics. It would be too much money, let alone from an R34. Get a R32 drive train, they are cheaper, and its the same engine

Tony,

There will be another week or two delay as now I'm considering whether to go for the GT2835Spro which my tuner has told me about. More lag, but more power. He said they are a new variant of the 2835S whatever that is!

Sounds good, but then I have spent big money on getting all the visable pipes chromed and it'll be a shame if they never get used as the 2835 turbos are top mounted!

Anyway, my wheels (Volks CE28N in 10.5X19) that arrived:
Wanted SO3 tyres but supplier have told me they are replaced by the new RE050, which in turn replaces the old RE040 (stock tyres for R34 GTR).
Since they haven't been out that long, there isn't much info on them but I think they are below in comparasion to the SO3.

More lag, thats not my bag, baby!

I will say those rims will look the kitty on your R34. 10.5" wide, holly cow pop, that is wide. I will give the R34 that, you can stuff a lot bigger tire under her.

Keep the GT-RSs, they will have more than enough power, as long as the engine is set up correctly.

I'm not too worried about lag, but just that if the RS won't make me satisfied, then I'll have to go bigger. So maybe just skip the RS now and go for the BIG power?? I haven't really heard any encouraging comments about them....

I'm getting some 285/30/19 tyres for the wheels. They are exactly the same diameter as the stocks, so meaning same rolling radius. Just hope I have chosen the correct offset of the wheels! But they are very LIGHT! Could really believe it.

How about your cars? I don't even know what you are doing/planning.
Did you go to Grasshopper today? Some new member brought their Murcielago and was giving rides.

The RS is a lot bigger turbo than I would ever go after. They have a lot more top end power than the 2540, but they need to be married with the engine components, the key is setting it up correctly.

Who has told you that the GT-RS do not produce. Any turbo that requires you to increase your cc's, is going to push a lot of air. With that amount of volume, and the inevitable higher power band its going to produce some good numbers. I would think anything less than 272/10.X would cause bottle necking with those turbos. If one thing is over looked, the engine will not meets its potential. Meaning, maybe the other people you have talked to, did not set-up the engine correctly when using the GT-RSs.

What about drivabilty? To me, that is everything, I am not after a big rush after 5000rpms. I much prefer a usable power band, that is why I think you should stick with the GT-RS, rather than a more laggy GT2835Spro, IMHO.

My cars, will I am at an impasse. I just applied for a 3 year extension on my tour. So, my 393, T76 GTR is on hold until I find out if I am staying. My Black GTR is going to be modded, but I am opting for the GT-SS, but I plan on doing something a little different, for better drivability.

No Grasshopper, the wife went to Italy. I had to stay home and clean, and work on the cars. I would have loved to have gone, you don't see a Lambo every day
